When I decided to pop the question last fall, I started shopping for a diamond engagement ring. I went to a few jewelry stores, but their supplies seemed a bit limited, and the salesmen seemed a bit forced.

"Buying a ring.” Sounds simple, doesn’t it? Go to a store, pick one out, pay for it, be happy. We all know that’s not exactly how that whole thing works. I’ve looked for a ring and it completely stressed me out.
The biggest problem was knowledge. I didn’t have much when it came to fine jewelry so I didn’t know if the salesperson was being honest. Were the retail stores trying to sell me a lump of coal while describing it as flawless?
